A digital journey
Our expertise with complex SAP topics and the success of the “Experience Mobility” event series were the admission ticket for our collaboration with SAP and their client Trenitalia. By implementing ‘Internet of things’ applications Trenitalia wanted to revise their complete train maintenance, and was finally at the point to be able to share these ground-breaking changes in detail with an audience. It was our job together with SAP to create the “how do we demonstrate that” and convey that to the public,.
Our idea: let the innovations come to life on the rails. Authentic, on the spot and in the middle of the action – in a moving object, on the train. On the route from Rome to Naples, approximately 120 international journalists, bloggers, influencers and selected clients were able to get comprehensive information and exchange views. Short presentations on the different aspects of the project were given by one SAP employee and one Trenitalia employee in each waggon. Moreover, in the business compartment there was an impressive live demonstration based on the 5,000-6,000 sensors installed in the train and the data generated by them.
How the technology used by Trenitalia can also be used by other companies and in other sectors was presented and discussed – despite the complexity of the topic – in a tangible exhibition and in small, very personal, open rounds of talks. The wonderful ambience in the Museo di Pietrarsa – the national railway museum in Naples – contributed its share to a successful concept. Exchange, inspiration, interaction. Clients and guests were happy. As well as our three teams on the scene.
