Opening of the Heidelberg Congress Center (HCC)
The Heidelberg Congress Center opened in April 2024 – a significant milestone for the city and the region. As a new global attraction for conferences and events, it strengthens Heidelberg's position as a meeting and event destination and offers inspiring opportunities for companies and organizations.
At the gala on the opening night, 800 invited guests enjoyed an impressive show, which included numerous speeches and interesting insights into the building, the city, and the significance of this construction. In the end, it was not only the guests at the opening gala who were impressed, but also the 7,000 visitors who attended the open house the following day.
“Thanks not only to its striking architecture and state-of-the-art technology, the HCC will be an ideal place for science and business to develop innovative solutions for the future. The HCC will be an accelerator of ideas from which Heidelberg and the entire region will benefit greatly,” said Mayor Prof. Dr. Eckart Würzner at the opening gala. Similar to ottomisu, the HCC is also firmly convinced that connectivity can make a big difference. As Würzner goes on to say, the center is based on the conviction “that dialogue and exchange inspire people. Learning from each other holds the potential to solve the great challenges of our time.”
Together with the experts from epicto, we were able to support the HCC team in planning, managing, and implementing all trades before and during the opening in a great team effort and engage in precisely this inspiring exchange. A particular challenge arose from the fact that everything at the location was new and was completed just in time for the opening. Since, logically, there was no previous experience with the event venue, this had to be gained first.
Beyond the opening, we will continue to advise the HCC on strategic issues and provide operational project support.
