Hot Autumn – Insights into our projects

by Beke Alberring

From Heidelberg to Mannheim to Berlin – during the event industry's ‘hot autumn,’ we were once again on the road a lot, designing events, creating experiences and bringing messages to life. We can look back on intense weeks full of encounters, energy and inspiring projects that show just how versatile live communication can be today.

Here are a few insights into the events:

HCC and myeloma days

We were able to support various events in Heidelberg with our production expertise. We made a valuable contribution to project planning and technical implementation both at the Heidelberg Congress Centre, where we regularly provide support as a preferred partner, and at Heidelberg University Hospital during the ‘Heidelberg Myeloma Days’.

Heidelberg Laureate Forum

Not far away, at Heidelberg University, science took centre stage once again from 14 to 19 September at the Heidelberg Laureate Forum. For the 12th time, winners of the most prestigious awards in mathematics and computer science, as well as 200 of the best young scientists in these disciplines, came together for lectures, panel discussions and interactive formats. With all the focus on science, we were responsible for the technical implementation, the main stage in the new auditorium, programme coordination and interaction management. In the areas of video, lighting and sound, we once again had the expert support of our stage manager Kenneth, with whom we worked together to implement the stage programme on site and via livestream with the quality befitting the event.

MWM Energy Days

Just a few kilometres down the Neckar River in Mannheim, the MWM Energy Days took place on 12 and 13 November. Over 500 participants gathered at the Rosengarten in Mannheim to discuss the possibilities of decentralised energy generation in depth. The event not only offered in-depth presentations by industry experts and insights into the latest technologies, but also provided valuable networking opportunities and the chance to make important business contacts. Among other things, we were responsible for the creative concept and staging of the product presentation for the new TCG 4170 gas generator. We brought the technical storytelling to life with innovative projection mapping elements and made the special features of the generator an impressive, visual experience. Through our consulting support across all project areas and the incorporation of elements such as AI translation services, we were able to work with the customer to create a well-rounded overall experience.

SAP Partner Summit for EMEA and MEE

Almost the entire team was in demand in the capital when SAP held its first joint Partner Summit for the EMEA and MEE regions on 3–4 November. The image of a constantly growing and changing city was chosen as the narrative and central theme of the event to represent the collaboration between SAP and its partners. This created a vibrant setting for change, growth and development.
It was very important that this change was not understood as an abrupt or hectic upheaval, but rather as an organic, natural adaptation to new circumstances, without stagnation and with constant adjustment to new conditions – similar to metamorphosis in nature. The event's slogan, ‘Embracing the future. Evolving together.’ reflects precisely this vision of jointly embracing the future in a natural process.
Under this motto, nearly 2,200 participants gathered at STATION Berlin to lay the foundation for this shared, metaphorical city – a city in which the SAP partner community can continue to grow together and thus prepare for the future. Ideas, inspiration, partnership-based exchange and forward-looking topics such as generative AI and innovative collaboration contributed to the continuous development of this city. The image of the growing city on the screen and the vibrant atmosphere in the halls of the venue reflected this dynamic.

Inspiration, community spirit, collaboration, networking and much more brought the metaphor to life and enabled participants to think ahead to the future together. The event was all about connections on an equal footing, which was reflected not only in the fixed formats such as keynotes, spotlight sessions and round tables, but also in the many individual meetings in the networking areas. The use of digital tools such as AI-based matchmaking was particularly beneficial, enabling targeted networking and effectively supporting the networking of participants with each other. These digital innovations played a decisive role in making the ‘SAP Partner Summit for EMEA and MEE’ a place where people came together and deepened their relationships in a new, future-oriented way.
Together with the SAP project team, we enthusiastically developed the narrative, the event concept including suitable formats, and the framework for the city's development. We also managed all relevant trades such as catering, event logistics, decoration, location planning, branding, technology, show and participant management. During these days, Berlin has once again demonstrated that growth begins where people connect, and the excellent collaboration with the SAP project team ultimately made the event what it was – a place of encounter, transformation, and shared growth.
